Appeal after two men snatch £200 from till of One Stop in Hillgrounds Road, Kempton
Armed robbers threatened a shop worker with a large kitchen knife before stealing £200 from the till.
Two men wearing balaclavas entered the One Stop store in Hillgrounds Road, Kempston, at around 9.30pm on Saturday, (August 9) and demanded the female cashier open the till.
She ran away from the counter when threatened with the knife, enabling one of the men to go behind the counter and take money from the open till.
Both offenders then ran out of the shop. During the raid another member of staff came out of the store's office, having heard
shouting and screaming.
When she saw the two armed robbers, she ran back into the office to call the police.
The man with the knife was described as white, about 5ft 8ins tall, of chubby build, wearing a dark green balaclava and a dark green jacket. The other robber was dressed similarly.
There was at least one customer in the shop at the time of the raid, but this person left without giving their details to the police.
Bedfordshire Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the shop at the time of the offence, or who may have seen the robbers outside before or after the raid.
