Two people rescued from house fire

Blaze started in kitchen of property in Rothsay Road, Bedford


Firefighters rescued two people from a house fire in the early hours of Sunday morning (August 17).

The blaze began at around 4.30am in the kitchen of a property in Rothsay Road, Bedford.

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus as they tackled the fire, and one of the rescued people had to be treated at the scene by ambulance crews for smoke inhalation.

Three fire engines attended the incident, which was extinguished at 5.11am.
