Action from the Scottish Open Judo Championships

There were more medals for the small contingent from Bedford High Hellcats' judo team who competed at the Scottish Open Judo Championships in Dumfries.

Elora Parocki continued her medal success by winning silver in the girls U40kg class, while in only her second competition, Christine Tavengwa achieved bronze in the same category.

Fighting in a new weight class, the girls' U45kg, Hannah Rogers returned with a bronze medal, while Lizzie Walton came fourth in the U60kg section and also achieved her Grade A Timekeeper Award.

Accompanying the Hellcats was Anton Parocki from Woodside Judo Club.

Fighting for the very first time after only six weeks of judo training, he fought bravely and with boundless enthusiasm to win a bronze medal in the under eight years U20kg category.

What do you think about Government proposals to double the size of Yarl's Wood?
After what we've been through in Bedfordshire with the riot and fire five years ago, I'd rather the facilities were built somewhere else.
Fair enough, we have got to house failed asylum seekers somewhere.
It's a recipe for disaster housing foreign criminals with immigrants who have outstayed their visas and others going through the fast-track immigration process.
