Italian stallions drive through for annual event which attracted 100 vehicles and 300 enthusiasts

Italian stallions roared into Sharnbrook last weekend for the second annual Vesuvio Classic Car Day.

Fiery Ferraris, marvellous Maseratis and luscious
Lamborghinis, were on display as proud owners cruised into the
village to show off their sumptuous supercars.

Ciro Ciampi, car enthusiast and manager of Sharnbrook Hotel and Vesuvio, where the rally was held on Sunday, said there were about 100 vehicles on display and nearly 800 people attended the event.

He added: "The Ferrari F40 was a real showstopper, although some people were more interested in my brother's three-wheel Piaggio.

"This year's show was double the size of last year's and we are looking to double it again in 2009. The combination of hog roast and Italian cars seems to go down very well."

Today's Vote

Can marathon runner Paula Radcliffe and badminton star Gail Emms win Olympic gold for Bedford?
Paula's injury and the quality of Gail's opponents might make it tough.
I'm backing Paula to fulfil her dream at last.
Gail must do it after her fabulous first round win with Nathan Robertson.
Come on girls! You both can do it!
